Administrative Division

The Administration Division provides assistance to department personnel with research and production of policies and procedures; preparation and management of all payroll and financial transactions; budget development and management; maintenance of employee and departmental records; support for employee disputes -- grievance resolutions, personnel and safety matters.  Read more...

Operations Division

The Operations division is the heart of emergency response whose primary purpose is to provide a quick and efficient response to emergencies within the District's 125 square mile area with a population exceeding 22,000 citizens. The Operations Division also provides automatic and/or mutual aid to the surrounding fire districts within Yakima County.  Read more...
Training Division

The Training Division works to provide training and education for West Valley Fire Department personnel through needs assessment, course development and project implementation. The division is under the direction of Captain Nathan Craig who began his duties February 3, 2003.  Read more...

Fire Prevention Division

The Fire Prevention Division is a valuable resource to the community in the area of fire and life safety. We take great pride in developing and providing a variety of educational programs that can be taught to children, adults and seniors. Read more...

Pre-Incident Planning Division

The West Valley Fire Department has a very active Planning Division that tries to prevent fires from occurring through effective planning and education. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, fires still happen. In order to keep our firefighters and command staff prepared, the West Valley Fire Department conducts pre-fire (pre-incident) planning. Read more...
